Private non-sectarian institution of higher learning, founded in 1866, which functions under a charter from the State of New York. It is administrated by a private, autonomous board of trustees. There are five faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine (which includes the School of Nursing), Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, and Health Sciences. It offers programs leading to both the Bachelors and Masters degrees.
